I am a postdoctoral researcher and project coordinator in the interdisciplinary research project FoGG (For the Greater Good? Deepfakes in Law Enforcement). My research examines the societal implications of artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on explainability, transparency, fairness, and trust in AI systems. More recently, I have investigated the ethical, epistemic, and legal challenges posed by synthetic media and deepfakes.

Within the FoGG project, we study the impact of synthetic media on legal systems and explore the opportunities, risks, and societal implications of the use of deepfake technologies in law enforcement.

I studied philosophy in Berlin, Granada, and New York and received my Dr. phil. from Humboldt University Berlin. In my doctoral dissertation, I developed a response to the Hard Problem of Consciousness centred on processes of conceptual change. Since then, I have held research positions in the PAnalytics project and the Explainable Intelligent Systems (EIS) project, where I worked on questions concerning explainability, transparency, fairness, and human understanding of AI systems.
