The History of the Department

The Department of Philosophy at Bayreuth has grown significantly in the last 25 years, expanding from two professorships in 1996 to ten professorships in 2021. Today, the Department is known for its international and competitive profile. In the last 5 years (2016-2021), it was awarded more than 30 third party funding projects, including research projects and conferences.
