Professorship for Ethics
I am a PhD candidate working at the interface of philosophy, social science, and public policy under the supervision of Johanna Thoma. My project examines how political decision-makers can use contested social science to inform policy in a way that is democratically legitimate. Previously, I completed BAs in Philosophy and History at the University of Amsterdam, and an MA in Philosophy and Economics at the University of Vienna. My MA thesis focused on normative commitments in theories of bounded rationality. Outside of my academic research, I have experience as an analyst in the non-profit sector, with a particular focus on migration policy and democratic backsliding.
